Wellsboro site of Spring Conference

M-DOWA Conference open to POWA members

This year's Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association Annual Conference and Awards Banquet will be held at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center, located in the beautiful beach resort town of Rehoboth, Del. This year's conference runs March 19-21, 2010.

Request for sportsman's auction items

Each year at the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, POWA holds a sportsman’s auction to raise funds for youth educational opportunities. These monies are granted to sportsman’s groups, schools, nature centers, boy scouts, and a multitude of other organizations to fund outdoor programs for youth.

Over the years, POWA has received more and more requests for grants, making it harder each year to raise the necessary funds. Here’s where you can help.

Online memorial created for Mike Watson

Long-time POWA member Mike Watson passed away recently due to an apparent heart attack while attending the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV. Mike was an artist who published his work in a number of outlets, including PA Trout and Pennsylvania Game News.

An online memorial page has been created to honor Mike's memory.

Bluebird Society of Pa. announces conference

Bird and nature fans are invited to join members of the Bluebird Society of PA for Annual Bluebird Society of PA Conference on March 19 and 20, 2010 at the Penn Stater Hotel, State College, PA. This event is open to the public and offers an opportunity for families, students, and people of all ages to discover the wonders of Bluebirds and other cavity-nesting species.
